You know when they ask you as a kid what do you want to be when you grow up?
For me, that was a detective. Until I found out that you actually need to be a police officer first, which dampened the dream for me of being a real-life Nancy Drew. Despite considering so many careers (and actually studying and working in one of them) writing fantasy always stuck with me, and I've been devoting spare time to it any time I could for almost my whole life now.
I love thinking up cool magic systems, constructing religions, deities and histories for magical worlds, and populating them with flawed and fascinating characters who kick ass. Adding a little romance is always fun, too. Writing and reading have been my escape for many years, and nothing excites me more than to share my ideas with an audience as in love with magical worlds and people as I am.

Here's some highlights:
Right now, I currently work as a teacher of teenagers (yikes), hopefully inspiring some of them to pick up a pen and write something for themselves.
I was published in the yearbook of my final year of secondary education, as well as in a university art and literature magazine while I was studying my undergraduate degree. I have also been a finalist in a national writing competition.
I also do some occasional freelance writing for an Australian indie company - writing fun and imaginative copy for their website listings and themed new releases.
I live in the 'burbs in Victoria, Australia, with my two kids, a cavoodle named Waffles and a very patient husband, who would love for me to write his novel idea about aliens one day - and include his name as co-author of course.
